In addition, there’s access to several reputable high schools and places of higher education. The Central West End is a neighborhood that’s perfect for both young professionals and singles. Louis are right for your personal needs, our list below should help you figure that out pretty quickly - at least on where to start that apartment search! 1. Of course, if you’re not sure what the best neighborhoods in St. The toasted ravioli isn’t all this city has to offer! The city has affordable housing in tons of neighborhoods you’ll love exploring, with parks, zoos, museums and activity centers galore, plus tons of art galleries and amusements and amazing dining. We were able to get up and walk to different parts of the boat, I think they also served alcohol on board. The Gateway to the West, as the 300,000+ residents refer to their fair city, is an increasingly beautiful, appealing place to park your residence and settle in. It's less of a must do and more of a when in Rome sort of thing. To us, there was no stress and we has a great time. Located nearby was a great hot dog and lemonade stand, where we fueled up before we boarded. The boat appeared well maintained, it was a smooth ride, great views of bridges and the arch itself. If I remember correctly it was over an hour long and we covered some pretty good distance on the river. The captain, was deadpan in his humor, but also had lots of information on the cruise. It was super hot that day, so the breeze from the river and the boat was very much welcomed. We sat on the upper deck and enjoyed a great view. We were greeted with the obligatory photo opp, but we were in full tourist mode at this point, so there was no way I was not going to do that.lol Unlike other reviews, I found the signs to be very visible and easy enough to know where we are supposed to go. The riverboat cruise was easily accessible right outside of the arch museum area. We booked the Gateway Arch movie, the riverboat cruise and the tram ride all for July 24th. I was less concerned about the money and more interested in the ease in which to book three things on the same day. Lucky for us we pre-ordered tickets for the arch tram ride, where we were given the choice to book three activities at once. Seeing the arch was the last order of the official trip before heading home to Nashville, TN the next day. My son and I ended a 10 day cross country trip via Route 66 from Santa Monica to St. So many exhibits with awesome animals, and the grounds are beautiful. Louis Zoo is way more worth it…it is about a 10 minute drive from the arch, it is FREE, unless you pay for parking, and it is a stunning zoo. It take about an hour, which goes under a few bridges that you can easily see by sitting the park near the arch, there is a massive homeless camp, and the graffiti on all the walls, there just zero value of this trip, and all you do is waste an hour of time, and money. And there is absolutely nothing to really learn or gain from this boat ride. They let way too many people on the boat to allow everyone to really see the ride, they have a snack line that will take the entire boat trip to get served, the sounds system is poor so you really cannot hear what the tour guide is saying, plus their staff is walking around trying to sell you the silly picture they took before you boarded, which also impacts your ability to hear. You can choose a ticket package that includes the riverboat tour, and I implore anyone who is ready this…DO NOT DO THIS! Just visit the museum and take the elevator to the top of the arch, but do not waste your money on this pathetic boat ride. Our family of 3 (parents/teen) made a day of visiting the Arch, museum, and the river boat.
